About Mr. Miles Ehrlich
Playing a part in some of the most highly-publicized cases across the country, Miles Ehrlich has built a stellar reputation as a smart, creative, and effective advocate.
Ehrlich is a founding partner of the Berkeley litigation boutique, Ramsey & Ehrlich LLP. Mr. Ehrlich’s practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, securities litigation and antitrust defense. He represents individuals in connection with criminal and regulatory investigations, as well as parallel civil and administrative proceedings. He has extensive experience in cases involving fraud, antitrust, public corruption, computer crimes, health care, environmental regulation, and tax evasion.
Miles Ehrlich is routinely engaged by senior corporate executives in connection with investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice into allegations involving stock option grants, insider trading, revenue recognition, and antitrust violations.
For eleven years before entering private practice, Miles Ehrlich worked as a federal prosecutor, handling some of the most challenging cases brought by the Department of Justice. As an example, Ehrlich successfully prosecuted an Assistant U.S. Attorney who accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in gratuities from cooperating witnesses. Ehrlich also prosecuted a federal probation officer and a deputy prison warden who accepted bribes while performing their official duties. Ehrlich also handled the proseuction of a DEA official who stole more that $6 million in government funds.
While with the United States Attorney’s office in San Francisco, Ehrlich served as Chief for the White Collar Crimes Section. Notably, Ehrlich also served as lead counsel in a highly publicized jury trial of a prominent San Francisco plaintiff’s attorney who stole funds from his clients. In another successful jury trial, Ehrlich secured the conviction of the Chief Financial Officer of Media Vision for perpetrating a massive accounting fraud scheme. Ehrlich also prosecuted a former officer in San Francisco’s Department of Building Inspection for obstruction of justice and theft.
