Martin Sands is responsible for the 2001 creation of the Select Access Funds, a group of fund of hedge funds. Prior to his role with Sands Brothers Asset Management, Martin Sands worked with a variety of companies, such as Shearson American Express and Oppenheimer & Co., before collaborating with his brother in the founding of Sands Brothers and Co., Ltd. in 1990. Martin and Steven Sands created Sands Brothers and Co. for high net worth clients seeking a viable alternative to large brokerage firms. Experiencing significant growth throughout the 90s, Sands Brothers, including related entities such as Sands Brothers Asset Management, grew to approximately 400 employees in 2000. An alumnus of Union College in Schenectady, New York, Martin Sands possesses a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. In his limited spare time, Martin Sands enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. An avid lacrosse player, Martin Sands is committed to advocating the sport among younger players.
