Possessing over 25 years of money management experience, Martin Sands is the Co-Founder, Co-Chairman, and Senior Portfolio Manager of Sands Brothers Asset Management. The company, which Martin Sands founded with his brother Steven in 1999, manages assets of approximately $120 million and serves a global client base of institutional investors and high net worth individuals through a variety of investment strategies. Over the last eight years, Martin Sands has concentrated his skills on developing resources in the fields of asset management and real estate investment. Specifically, Martin Sands championed the creation of the Select Access funds, a family fund of hedge funds. He was also involved in the purchase, renovation, and sale of 500,000 square feet of Class A commercial office space. Martin Sands began his work in the high finance arena with Shearson American Express in 1983. Demonstrating an aptitude for the industry, Martin Sands was subsequently hired by several prominent investment banks, including Oppenheimer & Co.; Laidlaw, Adams, and Peck; and Rodman & Renshaw. After helping Rodman & Renshaw establish its presence in New York, Martin Sands, along with his brother Steven, founded Sands Brothers and Co. in 1990. The company grew throughout the 90s, employing approximately 400 individuals by the start of the new millennium. Sands Brothers Asset Management is registered as an advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company maintains offices in Greenwich and New York City. Before beginning his professional career, Martin Sands earned his BA in Political Science from Union College in New York. A devoted husband and father of four, Martin Sands currently lives with his family in Greenwich, Connecticut.
