John Gavin began working in the Southern California tech industry in 1990 as the Owner and Chief Operating Officer of Southland Micro Systems, Inc., a Ventura-based manufacturer of memory products for applications, including telecommunications equipment, personal computers, and network servers. As COO, John Gavin managed daily operations for the company, including marketing, sales, and employee supervision. After 11 years with Southland Micro Systems, John Gavin left the company to begin the process of founding his current business, Shoreline Networks, Inc. Shoreline Networks, based in Capistrano Beach, California, provides leading low-cost, high-value computer networking equipment for a variety of industries. As the President and CEO of Shoreline Networks, John Gavin drives the company's growth and success. John Gavin oversees all operations for the company, including marketing and sales activity. John Gavin also ensures Shoreline Networks only partners with the best technology providers, such as Sun, Cisco, Nortel, and other leading companies. Utilizing his considerable abilities in management, John Gavin increased Shoreline Networks' revenues by 80% each year over the last 2 years. In addition to being a skilled executive, John Gavin is also an asset to his community and a very charitable giver. Currently, John Gavin donates funds to the American Red Cross, Goodwill, and World Vision, among other influential organizations. In his free time, John Gavin also volunteers for youth sports, coaching two local lacrosse teams and a Laguna Beach Little League baseball team. John Gavin also enjoys playing lacrosse through the Southern California Club Lacrosse Association, which he also co-chairs. Before entering the business world, John Gavin studied English and American History at the University of New Hampshire. Since leaving the university, John Gavin has maintained his interest in American History through his support of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
