John Gavin began his executive career as the Owner and Chief Operating Officer of Southland Micro Systems, Inc., which produced computer memory products for a variety of commercial and industrial applications. During his 11 years with Southland Micro Systems, John Gavin built the company into a respected leader in Southern California tech manufacturing. After leaving Southland Micro Systems in 2001, John Gavin began putting in place his current endeavor, Shoreline Networks, Inc. Beginning the company in 2006, John Gavin currently serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. As President and CEO of Shoreline Networks, John Gavin holds a number of responsibilities crucial to the success of the company. In addition to leading all new business development, John Gavin also oversees marketing and sales activities. John Gavin is also responsible for forging productive relationships with leading tech manufacturers, such as Sun, Nortel, 3Com, and Cisco. John Gavin's considerable expertise in management has propelled Shoreline Networks to its current position as one of the leading networking solutions providers in Southern California. Outside of his business interests, John Gavin enjoys engaging in a variety of athletic activities, including surfing, swimming, skiing, and golfing. John Gavin also enjoys running, and he has raced in a number of 5K and 10K events. John Gavin's favorite sport is lacrosse, which he has played since his college days at the University of New Hampshire. Currently, John Gavin plays lacrosse on the Quiksilver Men's Lacrosse Club, a team he organized. A charitable individual, John Gavin frequently spends his time volunteering in the community as a youth sports coach. Additionally, John Gavin contributes to a number of organizations, including the Western Reserve Academy Headmasters Fund, World Vision, the American Red Cross, and Goodwill.
