Commencing his career in business as a teenager, Joe Barbat learned the need for a retail business to differentiate itself from other stores when his father's video store began to compete with a new national video chain. Responding to heightened competition, young Joe Barbat began offering pagers through his father's store. Joe Barbat was able to open his own store the next year, and soon thereafter he created his exceptionally profitable franchise business. Today, Wireless Toyz includes 100 retail locations in 15 states. Joe Barbat manages the corporate headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, where he continues to remain on the cutting edge of the industry he loves by studying and experimenting with the latest wireless technology. Joe Barbat enjoys engaging in sports, including snowmobiling and competitive volleyball.
