About Mr. Jeffrey Lillien
An alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mr. Jeffrey Lillien has built a solid career as an attorney since obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Economics. Upon graduation, Jeffrey Lillien went on to attend the New York University School of Law, where he played an active role on the N.Y.U. Law Review staff. Jeffrey Lillien obtained his Juris Doctor in 1981.
Jeffrey Lillien commenced his professional career as an Associate with Mayer, Brown, and Platt. Jeffrey Lillien garnered the bulk of his professional experience at First Chicago, where he served in various capacities for 18 years. Initially recruited to work in the legal department, Jeffrey Lillien consistently demonstrated the combination of tenacity and high moral standards that has become a hallmark of his career. To this end, Jeffrey Lillien quickly rose through the ranks, eventually securing the role of First Vice President and Senior Legal Counsel.
Most recently, Jeffrey Lillien served as an Executive Director, Senior Attorney, and Senior Compliance Officer for UBS AG. Applying his deep knowledge of the laws surrounding finance and compliance, Jeffrey Lillien was integral to the management of numerous key projects. Between March 2008 and September 2009 alone, Jeffrey Lillien oversaw development of risk escalation processes, remediation of complex transactions reviews, and the development of a comprehensive regulatory relationship management program, in addition to assisting with analysis of regulatory and legislative developments instituting changes in key U.S. policies.
A member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Jeffrey Lillien also serves as an Authorized House Counsel in Connecticut. Jeffrey Lillien is a founding member for the Financial Markets Lawyers Group, an organization that advises on legal issues surrounding over-the-counter foreign exchange. Over the course of his professional career, Jeffrey Lillien has also been affiliated with the ISDA and The Bond Market Association/SIFMA.
Committed to contributing to the legal sphere even beyond his professional pursuits, Jeffrey Lillien has been extensively involved in pro bono work. To date, Jeffrey Lillien has served as an advisory board member for the Northwestern School of Law International Human Rights Institute and as Co-Chair of the Human Rights Council of the Midwest Immigrant and Human Rights Center.
