About Mr. Franck Raharinosy
At age 14, Franck Raharinosy moved to La Reunion, an idyllic, small French island off the coast of Madagascar. Born in France to a French mother and father who was a native of Madagascar, Raharinosy experienced diverse cultures, lifestyles, and languages from an early age. Prior to leaving his childhood home, Franck Raharinosy studied law and business at the local university, the Ecole de Gestion et de Commerce de la Reunion.
While attending the university, Franck Raharinosy directed the school’s cafeteria and oversaw pastry and sandwich deliveries for the busy campus. That experience intrigued Raharinosy and led to a career in the hospitality industry. Following graduation, Franck Raharinosy went on to manage several prominent nightlife venues in Paris and New York City. He eventually moved to Los Angeles to complete an internship in the marketing department of French airline AOM France. Raharinosy settled in New York in 1999 and began producing documentary films about a broad range of subjects. With entrepreneurial spirit, he founded a film production studio, Ridiculous LLC, in 2003. Through Ridiculous LLC, Franck Raharinosy has produced several well-regarded films, including the Sebastian Pons documentary and The Entrepreneur.
Franck Raharinosy's latest business venture grew out of a hobby he took up in 2003, when he first picked up a ping-pong paddle and discovered he had talent for the game. That new hobby led directly to the 2009 founding of SPiN New York, one of New York City's most unique hotspots. SPiN New York combines ping-pong with a nightlife atmosphere of food, drinks, and music, a revolutionary business model developed by Raharinosy and three associates, one of them being actress Susan Sarandon.
