About Mr. Dieter Raabe

For more than two decades, international businessman Dieter Raabe served as President and Chief Executive Officer of New Age Designs, Inc., Sue Wong International, Inc., and Studio S, Inc. Beginning in 1984, Dieter Raabe and fashion designer Sue Wong established a professional partnership to create New Age Designs, Inc. and its successor companies, a high-end fashion house for women worldwide. Dieter Raabe retired from this position in 2008.


Prior to his work in the high fashion industry, Dieter Raabe used his reputation as a well-regarded expert in international affairs to direct his work with the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council, while working as a professor at the University of Colorado. Following his tenure there, Dieter Raabe was Executive Director of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. In this capacity, he arranged for the President of the United States and other world figures to give presentations at the organization.


Arriving in the U.S. from East Germany, Dieter Raabe put his language skills to use and earned an education. First, he served in the United States Army for a few years as an escort interpreter before moving to California to start his undergraduate work at San Francisco State College (now SFSU). Afterward, Dieter Raabe attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Master of Arts in Comparative Politics and a Ph.D. in Comparative Politics and American Government. Following graduate school, Dieter Raabe taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.


Today, Dieter Raabe lives in Los Angeles and works with a number of companies as a consultant. He continues to demonstrate his dedication to lifelong learning by pursuing literary research in his free time.
