About Mr. David Bergen
An accomplished Information executive, Mr. David Bergen currently serves as a Management Advisory Consultant for Alvarez & Marsal. Through Alvarez & Marsal, David Bergen channels his significant experience into assisting a variety of companies in improving their IT performance. Most recently, David Bergen has played a key role in devising strategies and streamlining processes to assist in Blue Shield’s transition from utilizing an outsourced IT company to creating an internal IT organization.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, David Bergen served as a Management Consultant to T-Mobile. David Bergen garnered his broad-ranging experience as an IT leader with roles as Senior Vice President and Global CIO of Levi Strauss & Co.; Senior Vice President and CIO of CarStation.com; Senior Vice President and Global CIO of Duty Free Shoppers; and Vice President of Global Application Development at The Gap.
Beyond his current professional endeavors, David Bergen is an active member of the wider IT community. David Bergen has served as an Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and has also spoken at Santa Clara University School of Business’ CIO Leadership program. The past Vice Chair of and Keynote presenter at the Bay Area CIO Forum, David Bergen was recognized by Computerworld and Consumer Product Magazine as one of the Premier 100 CIOs.
A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, David Bergen possesses a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.
In his limited spare time, David Bergen enjoys competing in triathlons and playing sports such as golf and tennis.
