About Mr. Bruce Maag
Throughout his life and career, mental health counselor and foster care administrator Bruce Maag has earned accolades for his professional services and overall performance in his field. A lifelong resident of Ohio, Bruce Maag holds a B.A. in Psychology from The Ohio State University and an M.S. in Counseling from the University of Dayton, with certification as a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counselor. A Fellow of the American Psychology Association (APA) as well, Bruce Maag gained APA certification in Professional Counseling in 2007.
As founder, Chief Executive Officer, and President of the International Phoenix Group, Bruce Maag brings more than 40 years of experience to his work and maintains an unwavering commitment to the comprehensive treatment and successful placement of underserved youth in foster homes across America. As a result of Bruce Maag’s leadership and business development efforts, the International Phoenix Group won nomination from Allen County, Ohio, as one of the Outstanding New Businesses of 2006 and was featured among the 500 Fastest Growing Companies in Inc. Magazine.
Over the years, Bruce Maag has made a considerable impact upon the health and human services industry. Named in the 1988 edition of Who’s Who Among Human Services Professionals, Bruce Maag would later be elected Fifth President of the North American Foster Family Board Treatment Association. A frequent liaison to local and state government organizations, Bruce Maag has sat on various committees for the Ohio Department of Human Services and served on the Governor’s Commission on Volunteerism in 1986.
Active in charitable work in his local community and beyond, Bruce Maag has donated his time, energy, and resources to such groups as the National Council on Crime and Delinquency, the American Youth Center, and the American Correctional Association, and the St. Charles Catholic Church. At present, Bruce Maag lives and works in the Lima, Ohio, area.
