San Francisco-based entrepreneur Andy Kurtzig has been honing his business acumen for over a decade. Andy began his business activities while studying Business Administration as an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley. Between classes and study sessions, Andy conceived, designed, and built ANSER Corp., a software company that serviced and developed software to provide calendar automation for the newspaper industry. ANSER's clients included The Post Newspaper Group and The San Francisco Bay Guardian. The company was eventually acquired in 1996.
Today, Andy Kurtzig is the President and Chief Executive Officer of JustAnswer Corp. JustAnswer is Andy Kurtzig's solution to the problem of having a question and no expert on hand to answer it. Begun in 2003, JustAnswer matches people with Experts who can provide insight on a variety of subjects. In the over five years it has been in existence, JustAnswer has grown to a registered user base of over 17 million individuals with 20,000 Experts offering up their knowledge. Andy Kurtzig wanted the JustAnswer model to be open and friendly and getting started is as easy as typing a question on the home page, selecting the price, and letting an Expert answer. Conversely, Experts can share their knowledge with others by looking through JustAnswer's online Question List.
When not helping people receive answers to questions, Andy Kurtzig is part of the movement to cure Juvenile Type 1 diabetes. Mr. Kurtzig's family is involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, hosting an annual fundraising event - that is fun for the whole family - to raise monies for the cure.
