About Mokomandy

Offering a new multicultural cuisine in the greater Washington, D.C. area, Mokomandy serves an array of enticing dishes inspired by Korean and Cajun flavors. Located in the Great Falls Plaza in Sterling, Virginia, Mokomandy is open seven days a week for dinner. The restaurant’s founder and President developed his restaurant’s unique marriage of Korean and Cajun food quite naturally as the son of a Korean-American father and a mother from the Southern United States. Operated by an experienced staff and a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America as Executive Chef, Mokomandy truly delivers a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Main menu items contain a wide selection of bold spices, fresh meats and vegetables, and delicious house-made sauces. Popular dishes include snapping turtle gumbo, bulgogi beef, Korean pot roast, BBQ shrimp iceberg salad, and foie gras dumplings. The dinner menu also offers an excellent variety of side dishes, such as jalapeño hush puppies, fried kale chips, fire cracker carrots, spicy kimchi, and yellow squash shitake. Young restaurant guests can enjoy a tasty selection of dishes on the generous kids menu. Diners can complement their meal with one of Mokomandy’s signature cocktails and a tempting dessert selection. Mokomandy has appeared in a variety of publications, including Northern Virginia Magazine and Washingtonian magazine. In a review in The Washington Post, Mokomandy earned praise for finding a way to harmonize the cuisines of Korea and the American South into a fun, interesting dining experience.
