About Miles Ehrlich
Miles Ehrlich - Professional Summary:
A successful trial lawyer in both the public and private sectors, Miles Ehrlich has over fifteen years of experience seeking justice. Ehrlich has served with the United States Attorney's Office and the United States Department of Justice, as well as co-founded his own practice, Ramsey & Ehrlich.
Ramsey & Ehrlich handles many different types of criminal cases, from minor infractions to the most serious offensives. Having served as the Chief of the White Collar Crime Section for the United States Attorney's Office, Ehrlich possesses unique experience and expertise, both in counseling and vigorously defending his clients. Over the years, Ehrlich has handled a wide range of legal issues, ranging from securities fraud and insider trading, to trade secret theft and copyright violations, to obstruction of justice and perjury, to global price-fixing allegations in many different industries.
Ehrlich's post with the United States Department of Justice's Public Integrity Section gave him tremendous experience in fighting public corruption around the country, at both the state and federal level. Among many notable cases, Ehrlich successfully prosecuted an Assistant U.S. Attorney who secretly demanded money from cooperating witnesses, a deputy prison warden who took bribes, and a Drug Enforcement Administration officer who stole more than $6 million in government funds.
Graduating first in his class and Order of the Coif from Stanford Law School, Ehrlich then secured two high-profile judicial clerkships, first with Judge William A. Norris on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and then Associate Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, on the United States Supreme Court.
Ehrlich and Justice Kennedy forged such a tight bond that, in 2007, Ehrlich was asked to lead the prosecution team in a highly acclaimed mock trial involving Shakespeare's Hamlet. The trial, staged at one of the Kennedy Center's largest auditoriums, involved testimony from two of the nation's leading psychiatrists, who also happened to be amateur Shakespeare scholars. Using the text of the play as the evidence, Attorney Ehrlich and the other lawyers sparred over the question of Hamlet's sanity, and whether he could be held criminally responsibility for the killing of Polonius.
Miles Ehrlich has a thriving law practice, through which he has built a national reputation as a creative and tenacious advocate. He has been admitted to practice in numerous federal District Courts and Circuit Courts of Appeal throughout the country.
