About Mike Keohan
Michael T Keohan also known as “Mike” has been around the poker tournament circuit for more than a decade now. His has been an eventful career as a poker player with him having finished in cashes on more than twenty occasions. Mike Keohan is a resident of California, United States and is very active on the American poker circuit. Mike Keohan does not socialize much, keeps to himself and also likes the mystery that always surrounds him. A man of many talents, Mike Keohan works as a software consultant and is also into filmmaking though it still remains only a hobby. However, it is his exploits at the poker table that has earned him fame and lot of money as well. With two first place finishes, lots of cashes and the total winnings standing at $475,212, Mike Keohan is among the top poker players in the world.
As acknowledged by Mike Keohan himself, he learned poker in the 1990s when Foxwoods Resort and Casino opened near Boston, which is his native place. His win at one of the poker tournaments in Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal some years down the line has hooked him on to poker for good. Michael T Keohan entered the tournament circuit in 1996 and thereafter has been an celebrated figure on the circuit, displaying excellent poker skills in various tournaments.
The first major finish for Mike Keohan was way back in 2000 at the New England Poker Classic, Event #2 - No Limit Hold'em. He finished in the second place and earned $9,872 prize money. This success was followed by many more cashes in the following years. However, the biggest win for Mike Keohan came in the year 2004 at the LA Poker Classic - WPT Season 2, Event #23 - WPT Main Event - No Limit Hold'em. In this event, Mike Keohan finished in the third place and took home a whopping $359,245 as prize money, a win that till date remains the biggest in his career.
