About Mike Higgins

Mike Higgins, who uses the screen name “Higgins43” online, is a professional poker player from Proctorville, Ohio. Poker caught 21-year-old Higgins’ fancy when he watched it on TV. He then started playing poker with his friends, after which, he was hooked to the game.

With an ambition to win at least ten World Series of Poker bracelets in his lifetime, Mike Higgins has so far managed four tournament cashes, the first of which, came in November 2005 at the Ballys Las Vegas Poker Tournament on the World Series of Poker circuit. Participating in a tough field in the No Limit Hold'em event, the Ohio native finished a disappointing 45th and took away $416 for his efforts.

Mike Higgins’ best career performance came at the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure in January 2006. Higgins entered the No Limit Hold'em and put in a sterling performance to make his first final table performance. The 21-year-old eventually finished 4th and left the World Poker Tour circuit event with impressive haul of $327,100.

Higgins followed up his Caribbean exploits with a solid showing at the $100 buy-in 4th Annual Empire State Poker Championships, where he finished 11th in the No Limit Hold'em and earned himself $1,861 in the process.

Mike Higgins’ sole 2008 tournament appearance came at the Eureka Mesquite Open in July, where he participated in the No Limit Hold'em event. The youngster notched another in-the-money finish, taking home $380 for his 8th place finish, and taking his career tournament earnings to $329,757.
