About Mike Conway
Michael J. Conway brings over 30 years of experience in the travel industry to WorldVentures. In 1981 he co-founded America West Airlines. They experienced hyper-growth and in six years achieved $1 billion in annual revenues (it took Southwest Airlines 18 years to do the same). He then helped build the company up to 14,000 employees and while there, he became the youngest CEO of a US Major Airline.
From its founding in 1995 to 2003, Mr. Conway served as Chairman and CEO of National Airlines. He developed the Airline's concept and strategy, raised its initial capital and recruited an experienced management team, the majority of which elected join him from America West. National was able to achieve profitability after 10 months of operations and carried more than 7 million passengers.
He also served a brief stint as VP and Controller with Continental Airlines and comes to WorldVentures from AirJamaica, where he was CEO and led turnaround efforts for the troubled airline. Previously, while at the New York Office of Price Waterhouse, he became the firm's lead airline and aerospace specialist. He was named Airline Person of the Year by Travel Agent Magazine in 2000 and 2001.
During his career he's raised more than $1 billion in financings, including an IPO, and he's served as a senior advisor to a number of Wall Street Investment Banking Firms. He's a graduate of Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York, and he's served as an Adjunct Professor at CW Post College and Adelphi University where he has taught business courses at the graduate level.
Beyond his extensive airline and travel experience and his financial knowledge, he is incredibly personable with a very deep sense of commitment to our employees, our independent representatives in the field, and the company's vision for the future. He is an ideal fit with the dynamic culture that we have at WorldVentures.
