Miguel Frontera - Professional Summary:
Last serving as Communications Director of CAMELOT:ASDAC (Consortium for the Advancement of Medical and Evidence-based Learning and Organized Treatment: Autism Spectrum Disorders Adult Chapter) through January 2011, Miguel Frontera, M.D. oversaw all management activities for the organization. A nonprofit organization charged with the public dissemination of the latest research on Autism Spectrum Disorders or ASDs, CAMELOT:ASDSC focused on teaching the general public about treatments for autism spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s syndrome. Prior to beginning his work at CAMELOT:ASDAC, Miguel Frontera, M.D. spent four years, from 1992 to 1996, at the University of Maryland’s Center for Attention Disorders as Medical Director. He helped patients suffering from a variety of psychological issues, including Tourette syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and bipolar disorder.
From 1992 to 2010, Miguel Frontera, M.D. acted as the Medical Director of the Child & Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at Clinical Associates P.A. Throughout his time at Clinical Associates, he held responsibility for patient diagnosis and recommended courses of treatment that included individual, family, and emergency interventions. Miguel Frontera, M.D. also supervised psychology students and psychiatry residents as they cared for patients. Miguel Frontera, M.D. specialized in autism spectrum disorders, especially Asperger’s syndrome and pervasive developmental disorders. He developed an innovative program that was designed to help individuals deal with the effects of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Miguel Frontera, M.D. attended medical school at the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Miguel Frontera gave up his medical license in 2010. He is presently retired from all research and medical/clinical activities.
