Michael Murphy majored in Economics and Business at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY Albany), and graduated in 2001 at the top of his class with a Bachelor of Arts. In addition to his studies, he played lacrosse and rugby and was named MVP of the rugby team in his junior year. In his spare time, Mr. Murphy continues to play lacrosse as well as basketball in an urban professionals league. As a way to give back to the community, he supports the Linus Foundation to help underprivileged children from Harlem, New York. One of seven children, Mr. Murphy was born and raised in Stony Brook, New York, on Long Island. He makes his home on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
