Michael Harris IU Kokomo, 6th Chancellor and professor of public and environmental affairs, business, and education. During his tenure Chancellor Michael Harris led IUK transformation. He developed a strategic vision which resulted in IU Kokomo experiencing an all time 67 year student unprecedented enrollment record, implemented 15 new degree programs, expanded online courses, achieved record fundraising (Inspire Power campaign), initiated the intercollegiate athletic program, and led IU Kokomo to join the NAIA. Chancellor Harris initiated the development of infrastructure including a new nursing simulation lab, welcome center, new media digital center, next generation classroom, campus beautification, Haven auditorium renovation and the construction of Milt & Jean Cole Family Wellness and Fitness Center. Chancellor Michael Harris leadership was recognized as U.S. News & World Report ranked IU Kokomo for the first time.

Previously, Dr. Harris was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Kettering University.
Dr. Harris earned a B.A. in economics and Business Administration from Bar-Ilan University, M.A. in public policy from Tel Aviv University, PhD in public policy from SPEA Indiana University. Dr. Harris completed leadership seminars at Harvard University Institute for Higher Education (MDP 2001, IEM 2006). Participated in the Public Policy Round Table, Harris Manchester College, Oxford University. He is the author of 5 books and 40 refereed articles.
