Michael G Velasco

Michael G. Velasco contributes to the neighborhood of his home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, through a variety of civic services, including his youth mentorship in several athletic programs. As an umpire for the local chapter of the Amateur Athletics Union baseball league, Michael G. Velasco helps the volunteer-run organization support and develop young players’ burgeoning athletic skills while cultivating a sense of pride in their community. Michael G. Velasco connects with young athletes through his role refereeing high school basketball games. Additionally, he umpires high school and recreational softball and baseball.

 

Apart from his efforts in youth coaching, Michael G. Velasco involves himself in the local sports culture through his work refereeing softball, baseball, and basketball games at the high school. For his own athletic interests, Michael G. Velasco pursues a number of hobbies, including paddle tennis, golf, and fishing, and maintains memberships in a variety of related groups such as the Ocean Beach Sportfishing Club and the Ridge Paddle Tennis Club. 

 

In addition to his recreational pastimes, Michael G. Velasco dedicates much of his free time to charitable causes in his community in both administrative and hands-on roles. Beside his work as Co-Chair of a foundation for children with dermatological illnesses, Michael G. Velasco volunteers in the brain injury department of Children’s Specialized Hospital as a therapeutic mentor. Michael G. Velasco also contributes his time to St. James Church in New Jersey and sponsors holiday dinners at one of the state’s pediatric rehabilitation hospitals.

 

Professionally, Michael G. Velasco works at New Gate One Insurance Services, LLC, where he consults for corporations seeking individually tailored advice on insurance issues. In the past, Michael G. Velasco has worked in industries ranging from investment banking to research and financial services. He maintains licensing as a Certified Public Accountant from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, in addition to holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Outside of his rigorous business, civic, and recreational itineraries, Michael G. Velasco enjoys cooking and spending time with his family.
