About Michael Chock
Michael Chock - Professional Summary: An airline professional with more than two decades of experience in management, Michael Chock completed his undergraduate degree at the University of San Francisco. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, Michael Chock furthered his education at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, where he earned a Master of Business Administration. In 1985, Mr. Chock accepted the position of Flight Attendant with Northwest Airlines, Inc. In this role, he acted as lead flight attendant during international flights, supervising as many as 16 other attendants. Subsequently advancing in his career, Michael Chock became the Manager of Flight Service in 1990. His duties included collaborating with the Director In-Flight Service to correct daily in-flight management issues and operations and overseeing numerous in-flight automation initiatives. Continuing up the ranks at Northwest Airlines, Mr. Chock became Manager of Alliance Operations. In November of 2006, Michael Chock joined Delta Air Lines, Inc., assuming the title of General Manager SkyTeam and Alliance Development. Mr. Chock was charged with the negotiation and implementation of all alliance information technology (IT) systems. He also directed internal and external teams as they worked to cultivate and maintain alliance partnerships with multiple types of business. Beginning in September of 2009, Michael Chock became the Director of Alliances for SkyTeam Airline Alliance Management, a role that he holds at present. Continuing to work through Delta Air Lines, Mr. Chock spearheaded negotiations with prospective alliance members, such as China Eastern Airlines; Japan Airlines Co., Ltd.; Jet Airways; China Airlines; and other international companies. Additionally, Michael Chock heads a group of supervisors from various airlines who work to ensure the smooth integration of new SkyTeam members in departments such as advertising, information technology, and communications.
