Michael Brown is a professional football player who was born on January 25, 1977 in Hartlepool, which is a North Sea port in North East England.
Michael Brown started his professional football career in 1995 at the Manchester City football club and was sent on loan to Hartlepool United in 1997. During his stint at Hartlepool United, this midfielder appeared in six games and scored a goal on one occasion. Following this, Michael Brown was sent to Portsmouth football club on loan and he played four games for them during the 1999-2000 season. His tenure at Manchester City F.C. ended with a total of eighty nine appearances and he had two goals to his credit.
In 2000, Michael Brown made a move to the Sheffield United football club from Manchester city for £400,000 and made his presence felt in the football world during his stint at this club. During the 2002-2003 season, he displayed exceptional game skills and went on to score twenty four midfield goals, a feat that earned him the 'Player of the Year' award. Soon, he earned a lot of adulation from the fans and had his own chant, which was "Oh Lord Michael Brown". During his stint at Sheffield, from 2000 to 2004, he has made 150 appearances and had netted twenty eight goals.
The year 2004 also marked the beginning of a new career for Michael Brown at Tottenham Hotspurs and he established himself as a dependable player. He played with the Spurs till 2006 and featured in 50 games, which was inclusive of two goal-scoring matches. On January 31, 2006 Michael Brown signed to play for the Fulham football club and to everyone’s surprise he was honored with the team’s captaincy by the year end. He proved his mettle by pulling out a brilliant performance during his debut as the captain and was named Man of the Match, thus winning over the hearts of the Fulham fans. Michael Brown followed it up with another noteworthy performance in a match against the team’s rivals, Chelsea. He retained the captain’s armband till the end of the 2006-2007 season and ended his Fulham career with 41 appearances for the club.
On July 31, 2007 Michael Brown signed a three-year deal to play for the Wigan Athletic football club as a midfielder, and as of 2008 he has played in 31 games for the club wearing the squad number 11.
