Melissa Tonn M.D.

For over a decade, Melissa D. Tonn, MD, has served as President and Chief Medical Officer of OccMD Group P.A. in Dallas, Texas. Licensed to practice in Texas since 1987 and California since 1989, Dr. Tonn is board certified by The American Board of Preventive Medicine, Inc., in addition to maintaining certification through the American Academy of Pain Management. A Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Dr. Melissa Tonn has served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians since 2003.

A dedicated teacher with nearly 20 years of experience, Melissa D. Tonn, MD, has taught Occupational Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Centers in Dallas and Houston. In addition, Dr. Tonn contributes her knowledge and experience as a medical consultant for several organizations. She previously worked as the Medical Director of Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., based in Hurst, Texas, and spent six years as Medical Director of Presbyterian Occupational Health Network in Dallas.

Melissa D. Tonn, MD, completed her medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1986, where she was recognized for her academic achievements by induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Tonn also earned a Master of Public Health from the School of Public Health at The University of Texas Health Science Center, and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University, both in Houston. She laid the foundations for her advanced studies with two Bachelor’s degrees from Rice University.
