An ambitious undergraduate at the University of Michigan, Mazen Asbahi excelled in his studies and earned a grant that sent him to study abroad. He spent a year at the London School of Economics and returned to the U.S. to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. Committed to a global education, Mazen Asbahi subsequently traveled to Damascus, Syria, and completed an intensive course in Arabic at the University of Damascus. Upon his return to the United States, Mazen Asbahi endeavored to further his learning and enrolled at the Northwestern University School of Law. As an Associate in the Private Equity, Investment Management, and Fund Formations Groups with Kirkland & Ellis LLP for four years, Mazen Asbahi obtained experience in the composition of a variety of agreements and important legal issues. Mazen Asbahi next applied his skills as Associate of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group and with Goldberg, Kohn, Bell, Black, Rosenbloom & Moritz, Ltd. In this capacity, he oversaw agreement negotiations and counseled an array of clients on matters involving their commercial agreements, intellectual property, and equity arrangements. After two years with the firm, Mazen Asbahi accepted the role of Associate with Schiff Hardin, LLP. Stationed in the Private Equity Practice Group and the Corporate and Securities Group, Mazen Asbahi grew adept at communicating with business owners, shareholders, and entrepreneurs.
