Mauna Kea Galleries is the world’s destination for classic Hawaiian paintings and Polynesian artifacts and art. Founded in 1995 by Carolyn Blackburn, Mauna Kea Galleries aims to advance the position of island art and culture by serving as a center dedicated to exhibiting centuries of work by Hawaiian and Polynesian artists. Founder Carolyn Blackburn’s husband, Mark Blackburn, is an acclaimed author and scholar who has written numerous book about Hawaii and Polynesia.
Since its establishment 15 years ago, Mauna Kea Galleries has obtained a wide range of artifacts including vintage jewelry, attire, cookware, weaponry, and objects of art such as artisan lamps and furniture.
