About Matthew Hollibush
Assistant Professor Matthew Hollibush teaches undergraduate courses in the education department at the Newburgh, New York-based Mount Saint Mary College. Since 2009, Matthew Hollibush has instructed undergraduate and graduate education students, advised them in their work, and served on numerous division and college committees. Matthew Hollibush currently sits on the National Reading Council and the Mid-Hudson Reading Council.
Prior to accepting his position with Mount Saint Mary College, Matthew Hollibush served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. For four years, Matthew Hollibush instructed courses and participated in research activities with the departments of education, teaching, and educational psychology. Matthew Hollibush moved to Salt Lake City in 2005 to attend the University of Utah in pursuit of his Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning, which he completed in 2009.
In addition to his teaching experience at the college level, Matthew Hollibush also taught English courses at Vallejo High School in Vallejo, California. For 13 years, Matthew Hollibush divided his priorities between teaching high school language arts classes and coaching Junior Varsity boys' basketball. During his time with Vallejo High School, Matthew Hollibush also attended California State University, Sacramento, where he earned his Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction.
When he is not teaching, Matthew Hollibush enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and staying active through outdoor activities like fly fishing, hiking, and camping. An avid reader, Matthew Hollibush lists A Good Walk Spoiled, Field of Dreams, God is Not Great, and The Da Vinci Code among his favorite books.
