Matthew Cherackal is a famous poker player. He was born on May 11, in Berwyn Illinois. He graduated at the Princeton University and took a degree in molecular biology. His parents always thought it was best for him to follow the path of science, but he knew there was something else in his heart.
So he found out that his passion is poker. So he started playing and it didn’t take long before the world noticed him. Matthew Cherackal had been playing poker less than a year before his very first tournament ever where he made a huge success.
On March 24, 2005, Matthew Cherackal took part in the 2005 Party Poker Million IV Limit Hold'em Championship. The tournament was made on the the Oosterdam cruise ship and he went there ignoring his parents’ opinion. Despite regretting that his parents didn’t support his decision, he was really eager to participate in his first big challenge. He must have made the correct choice as he finished in 3rd place and won a check for $700.000, beating players who are famous for their ability to play poker. Everybody was delighted to see the young boy playing considering the fact that he started playing the game less than an year ago.
On July 26 at the 2006 Bellagio Cup II Tournament No-Limit Hold'em Matthew Cherackal finished in 16th position and won a prize for $2.185.
Matthew Cherackal currently lives in Princeton, New Jersey. He has devoted his life to many activities that bring him joy, money and fame. Of course, he never turned his back to science as well. He is still a student and continues to master his skills in every way he can, including poker. In his free time, Matthew Cherackal likes running in parks, riding a bike and spending time with his closest people.
Showing many qualities, most people his age lack, Matthew Cherackal has earned respect and appreciation in the poker world. And so far, his total live tournament earnings exceed $770.000. This is quite an achievement for a young and ambitious man, who recently started playing. We are all sure Matthew Cherackal is going to keep mastering his moves and scoring big time.
