Mary Sears Childrens Academy

Mary Sears Children’s Academy is a Chicago-area child care center that provides a safe, fun, and creative learning environment for children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Founder Mary Sears is an expert in child development and has also raised seven children of her own. Mary Sears Children’s Academy was started in 1964 and has seven locations in metropolitan Chicago.

The main goal at Mary Sears Children’s Academy is to offer a positive and nurturing learning environment where creativity is encouraged and students are prepared for their future education. Implementing a host of time-tested and effective techniques, Mary Sears Children’s Academy stimulates children’s natural learning tendencies with enjoyable activities that hold their interest.

Mary Sears Children’s Academy places a strong emphasis on the natural world and letting kids learn about the environment. Mary Sears Children’s Academy strongly believes that nature is a great teacher, so children are given access to woods and fields and have the chance to see trees and flowers, chase butterflies, hear birds singing, and watch the seasons change. Youngsters are encouraged to run and play in the outdoors on the school’s extra-large 3-acre playgrounds.

Furthermore, Mary Sears Children’s Academy offers a Summer Camp with even more activities accenting a fun and dynamic approach to learning. Activities include softball, soccer, pony rides, swimming, apple picking, and gardening. At Mary Sears Children’s Academy, busy days are topped off by fun-filled social gatherings like barbecues with hot dogs, watermelon, and corn on the cob, as well as ice cream socials.
