Mary leads GROW’s Research and Partnership Strategy.
A 2008 National Geographic Expedition to Antarctica was a life changing experience for Mary. Are there really waterfalls in Antarctica? Yes, there are waterfalls in Antarctica. Is climate change real? Yes, climate change is real.
Mary was humbled by that expedition and it fueled her passion to research and learn more about sustainable solutions to preserve the planet. So she went back to school.
Now a graduate of the Presidio Management School’s Executive Program in Sustainability, Mary is an active member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), Environment California, and The Presidio Graduate School’s Alumni Association.
As a sustainable business and technology analyst, Mary focuses on competitive intelligence, market development studies, traditional market research and win/loss analysis. She is a recognized expert in business process technology, data modeling and relational database design, meta data management and business intelligence.
Mary has over 20 years experience in the technology industry. She was a Senior Analyst with the Business-to-Business Infrastructure group at Jupiter Research. Previous to Jupiter, she held senior roles in education, product marketing and competitive intelligence for Bachman Information Systems, Logic Works and Business Objects. Mary was also a select member of the GIGA Research ExpertNet team, covered Data Warehouse and Data Mart research for The Patricia Seybold Group, and authored Online Analytical Processing research papers (OLAP, ROLAP, MOLAP and DOLAP) for The Hurwitz Group.
Mary began her Information Technology career developing software applications for Communication Companies, namely ATT, where she developed their Corporate Financial Inquiry System using IDMS/ADSO and IMS/PL1 database technologies, and ITT’s United States Transmission Systems group, developing internal Management Reports using COBOL, CICS, and IDMS/ADSO on IBM operating systems and mainframes.
Mary is the founder of three companies and continues to serve as a trusted advisor to several successful software companies, industry analyst organizations and investment banking firms.
