Marvin Emnes is a professional football player and was born on May 27, 1988 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
This winger was a member of the Netherland Under-17 squad that finished second runners-up at the 2005 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U-17 World Championship, where Marvin Emnes scored two goals for his team.
Marvin Emnes started his football career at Sparta Rotterdam’s youth team and played there till 2005, following which he graduated to the club’s senior team making his debut in the 2005-2006 season. He started 4 games for the club in addition to five substitute appearances and scored on one occasion, which was his debut goal for the club. The following season, this former youth sprinter played nineteen games that included seven starts and twelve substitute appearances. Marvin Emnes established a name for himself during the 2007-2008 season by scoring eight goals from the last ten games of the twenty eight games he played and was chosen as the Sparta Fans’ Player of the Year. During his stint with Sparta Rotterdam’s senior team, he appeared in fifty six games and had nine goals to his credit.
His last season at Sparta impressed Middlesbrough Football Club and Marvin Emnes signed a four-year contract with this club on July 4, 2008 for a transfer fee of £3,200,000 and the winger was given the jersey number 11. On August 27, 2008, he made his full team debut in a Carling Cup match against Yeovil Town and netted his first goal for the club in a 5-0 victory over Darlington football club. Marvin Emnes was also given the chance to play in the Premier League matches after signing with the club.
