Also a member of the ETL team responsible for migrating account information from the Ulster Bank and First Active systems into the RBS Caustic system as part of the Ulster Bank Integration project. Involved in analysis, development and testing of both new and amended systems (batch and online) with DB2 database access.

 

Direct Line Insurance, Croydon (2003 - 2004)

Contract Analyst/Programmer

Initially hired to assist with integration of Churchill Insurance systems into Direct Line system by investigating situations where report headings or screen formats needed amending and then applying changes as necessary. Wrote and tested batch and online COBOL and Easytrieve programs that formed part of two new on-line insurance systems. Provided quality assurance for new wording  (part of FSA requirement) to be shown on all Direct Line web pages and customer letters.

 

Norwich Union Life, Stevenage (1997 - 2003)

Contract Analyst/Programmer

Eliminated potential problems from batch and on-line programs of Life70 system that would have become apparent from the start of the new century. Responsible for the system testing and regression testing of the corrected programs ensuring they would function correctly when the year changed from 1999 to 2000 and beyond. Also liaised with business representatives to ensure they were reassured that the amended programs would work as expected. Developed and tested COBOL and ADABAS/Natural programs to extract data needed for the interface between legacy life systems and Review of Mortgage Endowments system. This work included performing extensive analysis and research into the data items that needed to be lifted from the old life systems and transferred across to the new system in order to provide the required information to the customers in their endowment mortgage review letters.
