About Martin Sands
For nearly 10 years, Martin Sands has helped individual and institutional investors manage their assets as Co-Chairman and Senior Portfolio Manager of Sands Brothers Asset Management. Since co-founding the company with his brother Steven in 1999, Martin Sands has explored a number of innovative investment opportunities. Some of Martin Sands' recent accomplishments include his leading efforts to develop the Select Access Funds in 2001 and his leading investment in 500,000 square feet of major Class A commercial office space. Martin Sands entered the world of high finance in 1983 through Shearson American Express. Demonstrating a strong aptitude for investment strategy, Martin Sands quickly climbed the ladder at a number of venerable investment banks, including Oppenheimer & Co.; Laidlaw, Adams, and Peck; and Rodman & Renshaw. With regard to Rodman & Renshaw, Martin Sands played a particularly important role in the development of the company's New York City offices. Martin Sands received his undergraduate education from Union College in Schenectady, New York. Earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Martin Sands also played lacrosse while at the school and was active in a variety of other activities on campus. Currently, Martin Sands lives with his wife and four children at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut. Active in the community, Martin Sands still enjoys playing lacrosse and advocates developing the sport at a youth level. Sands Brothers Asset Management operates two offices: one in Greenwich and one on Park Avenue in New York City. The firm is registered as an investment advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and manages assets approximating $120M.
