Mr. Martin S. Sands, the Co-Chairman and Senior Portfolio Manager for Sands Brothers Asset Management, has a wide range of expertise that covers areas such as investment banking, venture capital, private equity, real estate, money management, merchant banking, and sales and brokerage. Sands Brothers Asset Management, which Martin Sands co-founded with his brother in 1999, is a leading investment management and advisory services firm with a global client base. Catering to institutional and individual clients, Martin Sands is an expert in wealth management for high net worth clientele. Possessing a keen eye for business opportunities, Martin Sands has played a key role in identifying new ventures for Sands Brothers. In 2001, Martin Sands spearheaded the creation and launch of the Select Access Funds, a family of multi-strategy fund of hedge funds. While managing the Select Access Funds, Martin Sands acquired, renovated, and sold approximately 500,000 square feet of Class A commercial office space. Martin Sands began his career in the financial management industry in 1983 at Shearson American Express, Inc. Martin Sands moved on to play key roles at Oppenheimer & Co; Laidlaw, Adams, and Peck; and Rodman & Renshaw before joining forces with his brother in the cofounding of Sands Brothers and Co., Ltd. in 1990. Prior to embarking on his professional career path Martin Sands attended New York's Union College, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science. A lifelong fan of lacrosse, Martin Sands continues to be involved in youth lacrosse when he is not working. A resident of Greenwich, Connecticut, Martin Sands lives with his wife and children.
