Martin Sands wields an impressive level of experience in the world of high finance through his position as Co-Chairman and Senior Portfolio Manager of Sands Brothers Asset Management. Specializing in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, real estate, money management, sales/brokerage, and merchant banking, Martin Sands is in charge of managing approximately $120M in assets for his company. Since co-founding Sands Brothers Asset Management with his brother Steven in 1999, Martin Sands has constantly sought new and exciting investment opportunities for his clients. In this vein, Martin Sands created the Select Access Funds in 2001. While managing the Select Access Funds, Martin Sands invested in 500,000 square feet of Class A commercial office space. Besides these accomplishments, Martin Sands also pursued several opportunities in the venture market in connection with several late-stage VC funds. Before co-founding Sands Brothers Asset Management, Martin Sands worked in a number of prominent roles in finance. Martin Sands began his professional career at Shearson American Express and later joined a number of well-known investment banks, including Oppenheimer & Co.; Laidlaw, Adams, and Peck; and Rodman & Renshaw. Upon finding success in each position, Martin Sands co-founded Sands Brothers and Co., Ltd. with his brother Steven in 1990. Martin Sands is a graduate of Union College. While a student at the Schenectady, New York-based school, Martin Sands studied Political Science and was a member of the Union College lacrosse team. Currently residing in Greenwich, CT with his wife and four children, Martin Sands continues to enjoy lacrosse and is very active in promoting and sponsoring youth lacrosse in his community.
