Mark Muchnik is a 37-year-old poker player residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. A regular on the pro circuit since 2004, Muchnik, plays all of his poker in the United States, mostly closer to home in Nevada. Despite having accumulated 24 career cashes amounting to an impressive $878,055, a first place finish continues to elude Muchnik.

Mark Muchnik began his pro career with a 9th place finish at the Festa al Lago II in his hometown of Las Vegas, where he picked up $ 4,132 in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event. His next big performance came on March 11, 2005 where Muchnik finished 3rd at a Bellagio weekly tournament, again in Vegas, and walked away with $12,571.

Muchnik’s good run continued in 2005 as he picked up a total of 11 cashes that year. His notable performances in 2005 included five cashes at the 36th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in No Limit Hold'em events totalling $40,755. Mark Muchnik ended the most lucrative year of his pro career with total earnings of $77,194, taking him to 17th in the World Series of Poker’s number of cashes list and 434th in the World Series of Poker’s money list for 2005.

Despite showing tremendous form in 2005, Mark Muchnik’s biggest event cash came on April 14, 2006 at the Fourth Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. Muchnik, playing the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em, finished 2nd, his highest career finish to date, and walked away with a whopping $348,065. This also happened to be Muchnik’s only tournament cash in 2006.

With 7 tournament cashes, Muchnik racked up over $400,000 in 2007, his best year in terms of earnings. More than half of his year’s winnings came in the $5,000 World Championship Heads Up No Limit Hold'em at the 38th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Matching his best ever tournament placing, Muchnik finished as the runner-up and bagged a prize money of $230,300. He picked up three more cashes at the 38th World Series of Poker, including $58,570 in the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Hold'em event, where he finished 147th and $11,291 in the Six-Handed $5,000 No Limit Hold'em event, where he finished 39th.

Mark Muchnik rounded off a wonderful 2007 with a 17th place finish in the $15,000 No Limit Hold'em event at the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. With an impressive $77,085, Muchnik took his earnings for the year to $433,160, putting him at 1,526th on the World Series of Poker’s money list for 2007. His 7 tournament cashes also helped take him to 86th on 2007’s World Series of Poker list of cashes.

This year in June, at the 39th World Series of Poker 2008 in Vegas, Mark Muchnik had a quiet outing, participating in just three events and only managing a total of $14,495.
