About Marianne Virgili
An influential and nationally recognized management executive and civic leader, Marianne Virgili boasts a successful career spanning two decades in the association management industry. Serving for the last twenty-five years as President and CEO of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Marianne Virgili holds a track record of effective leadership, promotion of clear goals, and commitment to her community, which has garnered her many notable awards.
Marianne Virgili attended Kent State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations. Marianne Virgili showed early promise as a leader in her undergraduate career when she received the Alpha Xi Delta Leadership Award from her sorority, of which she was President. Since graduating Cum Laude from Kent State University, Marianne Virgili has honed her management skills, becoming certified by the Institute for Organization Management.
An authority in the association management industry, Marianne Virgili has led the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association to national recognition as a model for creating and developing sustainable growth, commerce, and increased tourism. The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association has been named among the top three chambers of commerce in the nation in its size category numerous times. For her work mentoring local youth, President Bill Clinton gave Marianne Virgili the coveted Daily Point of Light award and Colorado Governor Roy Romer honored Ms Virgili with the Outstanding Colorado Youth Philanthropy Award. In 2009, Marianne Virgili was named a Ford Fellow by the Ford Foundation Fellowship for Regional Sustainable Development.
Devoted to community service and driven by a love of her scenic area, Marianne Virgili maintains leadership roles in many civic, professional and philanthropic associations. In addition to her demanding position as President and CEO of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Marianne Virgili serves as Chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s West Institute for Organization Management, as Film Commissioner for the Glenwood Springs Film Commission, and as publisher and editor of the award-winning Official Insider’s Guide to Glenwood Springs.
