Marianne Virgili - Professional Summary:    

Upon graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Public Relations and a minor in Sociology, Marianne Virgili went on to become a leading executive of the Chamber of Commerce in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

 

Today, Marianne Virgili is a Certified Chamber Executive and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, where she manages a team of eight staff members and is responsible for program development, budgeting, and the entirety of the organization's operations. Virgili serves as Editor and Publisher of the Official Insider's Guide to Glenwood Springs and heads the Visitor Information Center and Glenwood Springs Film Commission.

 

Receiving a multitude of honors during her tenure with the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Marianne Virgili mentored a high school group to earn a Daily Points of Light Award from former President William Clinton and the Outstanding Colorado Youth Philanthropy Award from Governor Roy Romer. In addition, the Ford Foundation Fellowship for Regional Sustainable Development named Marianne Virgili a 2009-2010 Ford Fellow for her influential leadership in the movement to assist regional economies locally and beyond. Marianne Virgili's efforts have earned recognition for her association in the form of 16 ACE awards from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives and the best publication-writing award from the North American Travel Journalists Association.

 

Chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's West Institute for Organization Management, Marianne Virgili is also a past board member of the Board of Directors of the Western Association of Chamber Executives, the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, and the Colorado Film Commission.

Supplementing her service with the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Marianne Virgili lectures on a variety of topics. Her talks include "Crisis Management: Making Lemons from Lemonade," "From Vision to Reality: How to Put an Issue on the Ballot and Win-Every Time," "Online Relationship Building" (online customer service techniques), and "Keys to Member Retention."

 

Marianne Virgili remains active by biking and hiking regularly, and she relaxes by cooking, writing, and spending time with her family.
