Formerly the Public Relations and Marketing Communications Director for Agfa HealthCare, Margaret Turano now works as the Marketing Manager for Symantec Corporation, managing its healthcare vertical. At both companies, Turano conducted successful marketing solutions to increase revenues, as well as customer satisfaction. Her communication skills qualified her to manage Agfa's consultant meetings and cooperate with a number of notable industry associations.
Prior to her work with Agfa, Margaret Turano held the position of Director of Marketing Communications at AMICAS, Inc., now known as Merge Healthcare. In her five years with the company, Turano played an instrumental role in positioning and brand equity; the number of employees rose from 25 to 300, and the revenue surged from $1 million to more than $52 million annually. From 1999 to 2001, she led the marketing efforts for the healthcare vertical for Lernout & Hauspie, which had a strong emphasis in radiology, following the company’s acquisition of Dictaphone and PowerScribe for Radiology. Lernout & Hauspie is now Nuance Communications.
Margaret Turano lives in Charlestown, Massachusetts. She earned her B.A. in English and Psychology from Boston College. She then obtained a Master of Education at Boston University. From 2005 to 2008, Turano participated in the Marketing Committee of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, serving as the Education Liaison. Margaret Turano is a member of the Boston Biomedical Marketing Association and the HealthCare Businesswomen's Association.
