Lynn Schusterman

Lynn Schusterman is an American philanthropist and businesswoman. She is the widow of the late Charles Schusterman who started in the oil and gas business in the mid 1960’s. As of March, 2008, Lynn ranks 462nd on the Forbes “World’s Billionaires” list. Both she and her late husband Charles founded the Schusterman Family Foundation which contributes worldwide to help Jewish causes.

 

The Early Years

 

Lynn was born in Kansas City and raised in Oklahoma City. From an early age she was inspired by her Father’s acts of kindness and giving. She grew up and dedicated her life with the same values as her Father.

 

A Forty Year Span

 

Lynn held and currently holds a vast majority of leadership roles during her 40 year span. Such prestige’s organizations such as:

• Jewish Federation of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
• Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
• Birthright Israel Foundation.
• B’nai B’rith Youth Organization.

 

Awards and Honors

 

Because of Lynn’s determination to help, she is the recipient of many awards and honors which reflect the character of the person. Such awards as:

• 2008, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
• 2006, Lynn was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
• 2003, Inductee to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

 

“Life is not a dress rehearsal”. A saying Lynn has on a pillow that she has in her home/office which is decorated with needlepoint.
