About Lynn Hildebrand
The four-decade-old Humane Society of San Bernadino Valley, (HSSBV), whose mission is to aid animals throughout California, receives assistance from its Humane Education Teacher, Lynn Hildebrand. The HSSBV provides spaying, neutering, and vaccinations for pets. The organization also conducts basic obedience classes and investigations into animal cruelty allegations.
In her position, Lynn Hildebrand lectures to children from preschool to sixth grade about proper treatment of animals, care for domestic animals, and the importance of wildlife in our ecosystem. Think Before You Adopt serves as an important message in Lynn Hildebrand’s presentations as she hopes to educate children about the myriad of responsibilities that come with adopting a pet. To better understand animals, children can come to the HSSBV under the guidance of Lynn Hildebrand to visit its Critter Camp, where they get to meet many forms of rehabilitated, unreleasable wildlife.
Through the local school system and groups such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Creative Before and After School Programs for Success, Lynn Hildebrand’s program reached nearly 17,000 children last year. A strong believer in making a positive difference in the world, Lynn Hildebrand also concerns herself with environmental issues and reads books including How To Make a Gentle Difference and Random Acts of Kindness that advocate building a better future for oneself and the planet as a whole.
