About Lynne Ruttkay:
Author and artist Lynne Ruttkay has created a collection of educational material in a variety of mediums to foster emotional growth and character development in children. Through the Eccentric Racing Network, a social media website, featuring a character named “RV the Racer Aardvark,” Lynne Ruttkay works to promote responsibility, self-control, and other valuable qualities.
Lynne Ruttkay’s Eccentric Racing Network is an educational website designed for children aged 8 to 12. The site contains games, family project kits, animated lessons, and downloadable lesson guides. In partnership with Susan K. Stewart, Lynne Ruttkay co-authored the Homeschool Education Guide, a study guide that complements the lessons found within Eccentric Racing Network’s “RV the Racer Aardvark” chapter book. The guide, written for home school parents, meets both the California state standards in education and the national standards in education.
A member of the National Character Education Partnership, Lynne Ruttkay provides educational programs for elementary schools through an author visit program based on RV the Racer Aardvark. The author visit program consists of three separate sessions designed for various age levels focused on one or more positive character trait. Lynne Ruttkay is a Character Education Specialist and has earned certification from the University of San Diego Character Development Center.
In addition to her work as a children’s author, Lynne Ruttkay has achieved success in the action sports industry with more than 25 years as a T-shirt designer, developing more than 5,000 designs. She has created designs for surf shops and brands including Gordon & Smith Surfboards, Inc., Quiksilver Inc., Channel Islands Surfboards, Rip Curl, and Hurley. Lynne Ruttkay earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art at the University of California, Irvine. She recently completed Art of the Surf T-Shirt, a full-color 76-page collection of her T-shirt designs.
