About Louis Teresi
Dr. Louis M. Teresi joined SimonMed Imaging as Medical Director, Southern California, and MRI Research Director in 2011. Previously, he assisted Newport Diagnostic Center as a Neuroradiological and Musculoskeletal Imaging Specialist. He also currently serves as Medical Director at Neuro-MSK MR Experts Inc. His past career experience includes working as a Full Partner at Memrad Medical Group Inc., from 1990 to 2004, and Chief of Neuroradiology at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, an 800-bed trauma center.
As an author, Dr. Louis Teresi maintains numerous credits in academic journals such as the American Journal of Roentgenology, the American Journal of Neuroradiology, the Journal of Laboratory and Clinical Medicine, and the Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography. Highly active in his profession, Dr. Louis Teresi is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and maintains affiliations with the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Los Angeles Radiological Society. In 2002 and 2003, Consumers’ Research Council of America recognized Dr. Louis Teresi as America’s Top Radiologist in Neuroradiology.
Born in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Dr. Louis Teresi attended Marquette University High School, where he graduated top 1% of his class and functioned as an All-State middle linebacker on a Wisconsin State Championship football team. Attending Harvard University as an undergraduate, Dr. Louis Teresi played outside linebacker and special teams on the University's Varsity Football team. An excellent student, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, top 1%. In 1980, Dr. Louis Teresi earned his Bachelor of Arts, graduating magna cum laude with highest honors in Biology. He earned his Medical Doctorate at Harvard Medical School with a focus in neurosciences in 1984. After undergoing an internship in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Louis Teresi relocated to Southern California to complete his postdoctoral training at the Ronald Reagan University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center and the Memorial Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, now the MemorialCare Imaging Center at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
Currently living in Irvine, Dr. Louis Teresi enjoys staying active through hobbies such as sailing, weightlifting, hiking, playing golf and tennis, gardening and dog training. As a runner, Dr. Louis Teresi has completed four full marathons, including three Catalina Island Marathons (its steep terrain boasts one of the toughest dirt courses on the West Coast). In his cycling days, he rode 9 bicycle marathons (500 miles in 5 days). In 1995, he won first place while sailing his sloop, Salubrious, in the Nine Sails Regatta, sponsored by the Long Beach Yacht Club.
