About Louis Saha


Louis Saha is a professional football player, who was born on August 8, 1978 in Paris, France. He is married and has a son, Stanley, and he is of French/Guadaloupian descent. Louis Saha has many nicknames like Jos Louis, the Lieutenant and Panther.


From 2004, he has been representing the France national football team and has scored 4 international goals in 18 matches. He made his international debut against Belgium and managed to become a member of the Euro 2004 team for the tournament in Portugal. Louis Saha was an integral player of the squad, which made it to the 2006 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup Final.


Louis Saha began his youth club career with FC Metz in 1996 and honed his football skills as a good striker with every game he played for the club. In 1998, he moved to the first team of Metz but was sent on a loan to the Newcastle United club in 1999. Having scored a goal in the 11 games he had appeared for that club, he came back to Metz and netted 5 goals in 47 matches for Metz between his 2-year tenure.


He moved to Fulham in 2000 and performed his amazing stint in the 2000-01 season, scored 27 goals and put the club into the Premier League. Fulham became the winner of the Football League First Division in the season (2000-01). Louis Saha managed to score twice against Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League competitive games of the 2001-02 season. This took his personal score to 9 goals in 44 appearances for Fulham in that season. In the following season, he made only 7 goals but came back brilliantly in the 2003-04 season with 15 goals in 22 matches with Fulham. During his 4-year tenure with the club, Louis Saha had scored a good total of 53 goals in 117 matches for the side. After his successful stint with Fulham, Louis Saha was transferred to the Manchester United club in January 2004.


Louis Saha scored in his debut match for the club against Southampton and went on to score 7 goals in 10 games of the 2003-04 season. He scored 2 brilliant goals, which helped his team’s total to a 4-3 win against Everton. On December 26, 2007, he started the game for his team and scored two goals to help the club not only to win the match but to reach the 1st place in the Premiership. Despite of suffering from frequent injuries, he still managed to be in a good form whenever he recovered and scored 42 goals in 120 matches for the Manchester United club. With Louis Saha in the team, Manchester United won the League Cup (2006) and became the runner-up in the Football Association (FA) Premier League (2005-06). Louis Saha helped the club in clinching the FA Premier League title for 2 consecutive seasons (2006-07 and 2007-08). His commendable contribution to the club made them winner of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League (2008).


After a thorough medical, Louis Saha was taken into the Everton club on September 1, 2008.
