Louis Gregory Rice entered the financial industry shortly after graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1987 with a degree in Economics. Rice's first corporate position was as a Junior Research Analyst in the U.S. Equity Sales and Trading group at Lazard Frères & Co. (Lazard). In 1988, Rice moved into research sales. In 1992, Mr. Rice was named a Vice President in the U.S. Equity Sales and Trading group; in 1994, he was named Senior Vice President and Head of Sales for the group; and, in 1996, he was named a Managing Director.

 

Employment Background

Louis Gregory Rice held the position of Managing Director at Lazard from 1996 to 2005, when he left the firm. During Rice's tenure at Lazard, he coordinated issue pricing with Lazard's syndicate and banking departments in connection with equity financings. Rice also led Lazard's research sales efforts for many of the firm's institutional clients, including hedge funds, investment managers and mutual funds.

 

Current Employment

In 2005, Louis Gregory Rice joined Mezzacappa Management, LLC (Mezzacappa) as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. While at Mezzacappa, Rice expanded the firm's business development and client relations practices by adding consultants, institutional investors and intermediaries to its client base. Rice also led Mezzacappa's client development efforts in both the United States and Asia, and coordinated non-investment activities for institutional and high net worth clients invested in Mezzacappa's $1.2 billion Assets under Management (AUM) fund of funds. Rice left Mezzacappa in 2007.
