The Law Office of Lori Silver, established in 1993, focuses on estate planning, taxation, and trust administration. In addition to her law office work, Lori Silver teaches taxation and estate planning at Monterey College of Law. She has also shared her knowledge with Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Enrolled Agents (EAs) on the national speaking circuit, periodically as the keynote speaker. Before founding her law office, Lori Silver established herself as an expert in law. Her 2001 article, “Practitioner's Perspective: Spotting, Avoiding and Unwinding Abusive Trusts” appeared in the Journal of Tax Practice and Procedure. In the two years before Lori Silver established her law office, she was a Senior Tax Consultant for Deloitte & Touche, where she consulted individuals, families, and groups on trusts and estates. Lori Silver published How to Make a Better Profit in the Law Office - Year After Year in the U.S. and France between 1978 and 1980. In 1984, Lori Silver received her Master of Laws (LLM) in taxation from Golden Gate University, which prepared her for a successful career at corporations and law offices. She received her law degree in 1980 from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. During law school, Lori Silver was an extern for California Supreme Court Justice William Clark, and after law school she became a Legislative Aide for Congressman John Rousselot and Senator John Heinz. When Lori Silver is not working at her law office, she serves on the board of Adopt International, a non-profit organization which provides services to children and families around the world. Lori Silver is also on the board of the Upjohn Foundation in Monterey and has been on the board of Professional Women’s Network. A member of the Monterey County Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the California Society of CPAs, Lori Silver is married with two children.
