About Lori Haven
An inspired educator, Lori Haven sees teaching as an inextricable part of her life and identity. Although Lori Haven has had jobs outside of the educational field, such as her four-year period as a Logistics Specialist at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Research Center, she has continued to return to the classroom. Today, Lori Haven serves as a Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program Site Advisor and instructs sixth graders at Jeanne R. Meadows Elementary School. Her previous experience includes a five-year term as a sixth grade teacher and GATE Site Advisor at Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School. Lori Haven possesses an undergraduate degree in Speech Communication from San Jose State University and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Phoenix. Lori Haven continues to stay connected to other educational professionals through her membership and participation in groups such as the California Association of Gifted Education. At some point in the future, Lori Haven plans to start her own charter school, into which she can introduce new ways to approach education. Lori Haven hopes to contribute to the development of a better educational system through her work and efforts.
