About Me

Steam weeding offers one of the most natural and safe weed control methods for eradicating unwanted weeds in urban and rural areas. This technology uses physics rather than chemistry to solve the problem of how to kill weeds without negatively impacting both human health and the health of our surrounding environment.
The steam weeding machines work by heating water to a high temperature which is then delivered as saturated steam at the applicator. The steam destroys the leaf tissue of the weed by raising the temperature of the water within the plant's cells which then expands out rupturing the plant's cell wall structure. From this point on, the weed's leaf can no longer photosynthesize and can also no longer retain its water content which results in an immediate process of desiccation.
These steam weeders are now being used by councils, farmers, land care groups, schools, maintenance contractors and landscapers to eliminate the use of harmful and toxic chemical herbicides such as the commonly used chemical called glyphosate otherwise known as Roundup.
The media has recently covered the issue related to the potential cancer-causing effects of Roundup which can impact on humans and is linked to a large number of health-related diseases.
Communities around Australia are demanding that herbicide use around public and environmentally sensitive areas be stopped and replaced with safer alternatives. Steam weeding offers such a solution. It has been shown to be an effective and sustainable solution that can be used for both residential and commercial applications.
As more and more people become aware of the inherent risks associated with the continued use of chemicals the general population has been seeking safer methods to be investigated and applied within their local areas, particularly around parks, playgrounds, schools and recreational areas. In many of these areas young children are often walking barefoot and easily absorb recently sprayed chemicals through their skin.
As a society we have become overly reliant on the use of chemicals to solve our everyday problems. A growing number of people have realised that this is unsustainable in the long term and as such there has been a movement towards more organic and eco-friendly ways to deal with our daily requirements and needs. Collectively we are going to have to assess our current situation and decide wisely as to how we can move forward and create a bright future for our future generations.
