About Lisa Axelrod
Lisa Axelrod - Professional Summary:
Lisa Axelrod’s extensive experience supervising film productions ranges from managing sets, scouting locations, and casting to catering, talent wrangling, and shooting and editing.
As the Executive Assistant to the Director and Production Supervisor for several years, Lisa Axelrod oversaw multiple productions simultaneously. Axelrod not only managed production schedules, but she also marketed the company by ensuring that it maintained a strong presence on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. In addition, she created presentations for investors and distributors.
Besides her production duties, Axelrod made certain that the director and producer’s affairs ran seamlessly by shopping, making travel plans, caring for pets, and performing various other jobs for him. In her first year alone, Axelrod reduced the film company’s costs by negotiating lower rates for banking, events, credit lines, rentals, locations, and other expenses. She also developed a salary and health insurance plan that saved the firm money.
Before her efforts at the film company, Lisa Axelrod worked in Honolulu as the Program Director of Temple Emanu-El and the Director of University of Hawai’i at Manoa’s Hillel: the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life. Previously, Lisa Axelrod owned an entertainment services company, Teddy’s Good Eye Productions in Cleveland, for 12 years. Axelrod and her 35 employees served the party and event planning needs of 10,000 customers. At the time, she maintained membership in the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with a minor in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles.
Today, Lisa Axelrod is an active participant in her community through her volunteer efforts with Women in Film, LA Voice PICO, Habitat for Humanity International, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), 5P21, and People Assisting the Homeless (PATH). She gives to charities such as the Hollywood United Methodist Church, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), The Humane Society of the United States, Oxfam, and Doctors Without Borders.
