About Linus Abrams
Dr. Linus Abrams holds dual positions as the Medical Director of his own private psychiatry practice and as a Director in the Department of Psychiatry at Greenwich Hospital. Dr. Abrams began working at the hospital in 1993, although he recently earned the position of Director in 2009. In his role as Director, Dr. Linus Abrams offers leadership and support to the many psychiatry and psychology professionals at Greenwich Hospital. In a larger sense, this includes facilitating programs for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, many of whom are dealing with issues such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse, bipolar behavioral disorder, eating disorders, and depression. Dr. Abrams offers services that include family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mind stress body management, psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as individual and group behavioral therapy.
As a Certified Master Psychopharmacologist, Dr. Linus Abrams helps a number of patients through medical treatment of their respective health issues. He also brings his evolving knowledge of the field of psychiatry to his private practice, which he augments with involvement in professional organizations like the American Psychiatric Association, the Neuroscience Education Institute, and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
In his free time, Dr. Linus Abrams spends time reading the works of Irvin Yalom, Robert Cloninger, Saul Bellow, and Martin Amis. He also enjoys meditation and yoga, as well as listening to music and spending time with his family. Dr. Abrams supports both Doctors Without Borders and National Public Radio.
